A lake house custom mudroom has to work harder than most. Wet shoes, towels, bags, and gear all need a place to land. Instead of feeling like a dumping ground for sandy shoes, this mudroom feels like the perfect transition from the messy outdoors into a clean interior.
Warm cream cabinetry pairs with dark wood bench and hook details, finished with the same beaded, full inset construction used throughout the rest of the house, so the mudroom doesn’t feel like a lesser-finished space.
A solid wood bench with hooks above gives everyone a spot to sit down and unload, backed by open shelving stocked with woven baskets for grab-and-go storage.
Tucked into the same footprint, a compact stacked washer and dryer fit neatly into a tall cabinet column. Truly practical for a lake house where laundry needs to happen fast and often, without taking over a full separate room.
