For a work-from-home professional who spends a lot of time on video calls, the wall behind them matters – a lot. These custom office shelves were built to be that backdrop. It’s a piece that reads as considered and camera-ready without trying too hard. A piece to display personal items on top, but also a functional shelf on the bottom with space for a printer and other office supplies.

Paint/Stain Colors: Pampas, Tricorn Black (SW 6258)

design overview

Tricorn Black Against Solid White Oak

The cabinetry is painted in Tricorn Black, giving the piece real depth and presence against the room’s lighter walls and flooring. Against that dark backdrop, the open shelves and countertop are solid white oak, finished in a natural stain (Pampas) that keeps things warm rather than stark. A black-framed sliding glass door adds a bit of structure to the layout without closing off the shelving itself.

features

Open Custom Office Shelves with Real Storage

The shelves stay open above a single piece of 3 closed cabinets below, so what’s visible stays curated while everything else has a place out of sight.

Inside those lower cabinets, adjustable rollouts do the practical work, including a dedicated printer rollout. This setup keeps office supplies and equipment off the shelves entirely. It’s a wall that looks good on camera and still earns its keep as real storage the rest of the day.

This home office shelving was completed in Fond du Lac. Bigfoot Custom Cabinetry designs and builds custom pieces like this for homeowners throughout Eastern Wisconsin, including Appleton, Green Lake, Madison, Milwaukee, Kohler, Elkhart Lake, and Green Bay.
