The centerpiece of this Eastern Wisconsin kitchen renovation is a full run of high-gloss, slab-front cabinetry in a deep, near-black finish. Every door, every panel — including the seamless refrigerator surround — flows as one uninterrupted surface. No visible hardware breaks the line on the upper cabinet tower. The result is a kitchen that reads more like a piece of architecture than a renovation.
Every cabinet in this space was built from scratch. That distinction matters: the weight, the durability, and the way the finish holds over time are fundamentally different from anything production cabinetry can offer.
Brass hardware was chosen deliberately throughout — pulls that catch the light, a statement faucet that anchors the sink wall, and a built-in drain rack that keeps the workspace both functional and refined. The backsplash is a cream marble with warm gold veining, creating just enough contrast to keep the dark palette from feeling heavy.
The countertops continue the drama: a deep black surface on the island reflects the recessed lighting overhead and anchors the space with a sense of permanence.
What makes a Bigfoot Construction kitchen different isn’t just the design choices — it’s how those choices are executed. The cabinet faces are perfectly flush. The grain and finish are consistent across every surface. The refrigerator panel integrates so cleanly into the surrounding cabinetry that it disappears entirely into the design.
This is what it looks like when a craftsman treats your kitchen like a piece of art.
