Bigfoot Custom Cabinetry created custom recreation room cabinetry in London Gray from Farrow & Ball – and we just love it! Every lake house needs a room built for cozying up on a cold or rainy day – cards on the table, a movie on the TV, blankets at arm’s reach. This one delivers on all three in a color palette that deserves a closer look.
Builder: Burg Homes LLC
Designer: Stone House Collective
Paint Colors: London Clay (Farrow & Ball No. 244)
Finished in a warm medium brown with a semigloss smooth painted surface, the room leans cozy rather than formal. The cabinets and custom banquette were designed with one thing in mind: games. Board games, video games, cards – you name it. There’s ample space for both storage and play.
The entertaining cabinet was built as one integrated piece rather than the more typical cabinet-plus-separate-top approach you’ll see from other cabinet makers. Bigfoot loves a single-piece cabinet – the absence of seams and joints where cheap cabinets have them add a level of sophistication that comes with extra work, creative design, and a lot of attention to detail. A banquette seating nook uses a one-piece solid wood top bench with extra storage tucked underneath. It’s the kind of room where the craftsmanship shows up as much in how it holds up to daily use as in how it looks on day one.
This entertaining space was built for a family in Green Lake, and it’s a good example of the kind of everyday-living cabinetry Bigfoot Construction builds throughout Eastern Wisconsin – including Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee, Kohler, Elkhart Lake, and Green Bay.
